Since 1974, Concord Feminist Health Center has provided care and financial assistance for uninsured and low-income women needing free or reduced fees for reproductive health services. This evening is a benefit for CFHC’s Women-in–Need Fund featuring the voices of feminism for a new generation, Jennifer Baumgardner and Amy Richards co-authors of Manifesta: Young Women, Feminism and the Future.

Jennifer was the youngest editor ever at Ms. Magazine and currently writes on politics and popular culture in The Nation, Jane and Glamour and is a political contributor on "She Span" a weekly show on the Oxygen Network for women. Amy is a contributing editor at Ms. and co-founder of the Third Wave Foundation, a national activist organization for women between the ages of 16 and 30. Amy and Jennifer have spoken at more than 160 colleges and high schools in the last 4 years and their joint writings can be found in several anthologies, including Catching A Wave. Their new book about everyday activism called Grassroots is due out December 2004.
