Depending on what type of service you have had at the Health Center, your follow-up care will vary. It is important to follow through with all instructions given at the time of your initial visit.

• If you had a medication abortion (an abortion by pill), it is essential that you return 14 days after your appointment to be sure that the procedure is complete. There is no cost for this visit. It is covered in your initial fee and takes about 30 minutes. We will be talking to you about how you are doing both emotionally and physically. It is important that you have a follow-up pregnancy test and a brief physical exam to ensure you are doing well.
• If you had a surgical abortion, we recommend you have a follow-up exam after 3-4 weeks from the date of the procedure. A pregnancy test will be done and a brief physical exam will occur. We will be talking to you about how you are doing both emotionally and physically. This appointment takes about 30 minutes. There is no cost for this visit; it is covered in your initial fee.
• If you were here for gynecological services, your follow up care is determined by the practitioner. She will give you specific instructions if needed upon your departure.
• If you were here for birth control counselling and/or prescription, your follow up is determined by the practitioner and she will give you instructions upon your departure.
• If you were here for STI/HIV testing - follow up instructions will be based according to your test results. We will give you those instructions as the test results are available.
