Upcoming Events

abortion-monologuesThe Abortion Monologues, a play by Jane Cawthorne, will be performed on Saturday May 25th at 7:30PM at Dartmouth Hall 105 - Dartmouth College

In these dramatic monologues, twenty-three women reveal the details of their lives, families and relationships as they tell the stories of their abortions. Sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking, but always thought provoking, The Abortion Monologues exist in stark contrast to the real world in which women seldom publicly discuss this choice. The characters in this play face everyday hardship, financial crisis, relationship break down, illness, death, radical shifts in expectations and the truth about themselves and their own deepest desires.

The characters in this play will challenge you to think again about what you believe and why you believe it.

2012 Conference - From Abortion Rights to Social Justice: Building the Movement for Reproductive Freedom

Friday, April 13, 2012 - 3:00pm to Sunday, April 15, 2012 - 12:15pm
26TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR STUDENT AND COMMUNITY ACTIVISTS
HAMPSHIRE COLLEGE, AMHERST, MA

"Radical, empowering and unlike any other conference."

Civil Liberties and Public Policy's annual conference connects activists from across the U.S. and internationally to build a stronger movement for reproductive justice and social change. Through plenaries, workshops, panels, and trainings, we encourage intergenerational dialogue, support youth leadership, and help build the connections and analysis necessary for cross-movement collaborations.

More than 150 speakers and 75 conference workshops will highlight successful examples of activism and discuss how struggles for reproductive and sexual rights are intricately linked to movements for economic, social, and environmental justice. Topics of workshops and strategic action sessions include abortion access in the U.S. and internationally, climate justice, anti-foreclosure activism, media making and storytelling, the politics of population control, and organizing around the 2012 elections.

March 7, 2012 - a Day of Action for Women’s Health

march7Join us and other New Hampshire voters on Wednesday, March 7 in Concord for a Day of Action to Protect Women’s Health!

Did you know that earlier this week, Rush Limbaugh had the audacity to call a  Georgetown law student who is an  activist for birth control a  “slut” and “prostitute” for speaking out about the issue?  Although many have condemned what was said, the GOP's overall silence on this issue is deafening.

If you are fed up with this kind of insult to women and the extreme efforts to restrict women’s access to contraception and other critical reproductive health services here in New Hampshire and nationally, join us in Concord on March 7th for a "Day of Action for Women’s Health”.

Starting at 8:00 a.m. we will march to the State House to line the stairwells to the House floor so that legislators have to walk by our protest on their way to session.  After that, we're asking those who can stay to occupy the House gallery. We’ll finish off the day with a HUGE RALLY at the State House from 11:30-1:30.

Please, join us and other New Hampshire voters on Wednesday, March 7 in Concord for a Day of Action to Protect Women’s Health. We need to send a strong message to state legislators that recent attacks on women’s health will not be tolerated.  Together, we will let them know that New Hampshire voters are paying attention, and we won’t let legislators send women back to the dark ages! Make sure your voice is heard on March 7.

Thanks to everyone for coming to our Candye Kane Show September 24, 2011 to Benefit the Concord Feminist Health Center

And a special thank you to these very generous sponsors of the concert!
