Join Us on January 14th As We Celebrate Choice and Counter-Protest NH Right to Life March

counter-protestJoin us at the Concord Feminist Health Center on January 14, 2012 from 11am - 1pm to celebrate women, men, children and choice.

This year marks the 39th year since Roe vs Wade -- the Supreme Court decision that finally gave women the right to control their own bodies and their own lives.

Let's spread the joy of giving women a choice!

At the same time, the NH Right to Life will be conducting their annual March for Life, and will walk past CFHC. Last year, over 200 marched in an attempt to coerce women to give up their right to choose. With the current political climate, we're estimating more will attend this year.

Bring your voice, enthusiasm, and warm mittens. Signs will be provided for those who want to carry one. Feel free to make/bring your own sign!

Hot chocolate, tea, coffee, hot cider, and munchies will be available.

Pledge a Picketer - Thank You!

pledge-final40 Days of Life Pledge a Picketer Donation Drive

Our heartfelt gratitude to the community for their outpouring of support during the 40 days of protest. This support came in the way of financial contributions, from our beloved client escorts who donated their time to provide safe, comforting passage into and out of our building so that our clients could avoid the protestors, in the many letters to the Concord Monitor in support of us and reproductive choice and in the loaning of a private parking lot so that we could allow our clients to park on our private property.

You came in droves and it buoyed our spirit and our resolve to continue to serve the community. With your continued backing, we will be able to do so for many years to come. Thank you so much! Our goal was $4,000 and a whopping $8,009.07 was raised!

Protecting the Lives of Women

Protecting the Lives of Women

This is in response to the woman who was confused by the banner that the Concord Feminist Health Center displays that says "Legal Abortion IS Pro-Life" ("Childish reaction," Sunday Monitor letter, Oct. 16):

The message on the banner refers to the historical fact that before legal abortions, many hundreds of thousands of women were maimed or lost their lives to unsafe, illegal, "back-alley" abortion procedures. If abortion rights are rescinded, the fear is that women will again resort to either aborting themselves or will seek out untrained, unsanitary, illegal practitioners. What the message means is that legal abortion protects the lives of women who need compassionate, skilled care - and this means the lives of our sisters, mothers, wives, girlfriends, daughters, best friends.
